Jackie Maloney was born in Brunswick on the southern coast of Maine, and recently packed her things and moved to Philadelphia for school. Her artwork is, as a result of this abrupt change, preoccupied with issues of environment, home, and the human presence in nature. She expects to move back to the country soon.
She is learning to better express her ideas at Moore College of Art, where she is earning her BFA in Fine Arts and Art History. She likes the way her education in the histories, theories, and psychologies of art has bolstered her creative endeavors with greater purpose and meaning.
Jackie has had experience exhibiting her work in her hometown and at Moore, and is in eager pursuit of exhibition opportunities in galleries and at the MoMA and Tate Modern. If you are an influential person in the art world, please put a good word in on her behalf.
Important things to Jackie, other than art and books, are family, healthy and flavorful food, animals, and the (very endangered) St. Helena gumwood tree.
